If you know a great place in Florida that deserves some recognition, the American Planning Association would like to hear from you.

The American Planning Association is taking nominations for its annual Great Places in Florida awards program.

The program highlights Florida's Great Places and the communities and people that have created them.

Anyone can nominate a Great Place.

You will find the information on the submission on-line at floridaplanning.org.

With a few words and a couple of pictures, you can nominate your favorite place to be recognized as a shining example to the rest of the state.

A Selection Committee will narrow down the nominations and then one Great Place will be chosen winner through an online vote.

Make your nomination soon.

Nominations will be accepted through September 21st.

Finalists will be announced on October 1st and the winner will be announced on October 26th.
