The smooth shiny porcelain-like surface, the delicate colors and fantastical shapes of seashells have captivated the imagination of many a beach comber. These whorled skeletons are taunting glimpses of the live animals that live and hunt in the world’s oceans. The remains cast tantalizingly on the beaches of the world. The snails of the northern Gulf of Mexico include the massive tangerine horse conch to the tiny mud snails of sandy flats and many others whose lives may surprise you.
