If you want to take a tour of the St. George Island lighthouse, it's as close as the click of a mouse

If you want to take a tour of the St. George Island lighthouse, it's as close as the click of a mouse.

The Franklin County Tourist Development Council this week added a video tour of the popular lighthouse to its library of virtual trips to local museums and lighthouses.

The video series includes the Carrabelle History Museum and the the Crooked River Lighthouse Museum in Carrabelle as well as the Orman House, the Raney House and the John Gorrie Museums in Apalachicola.

There is also a trip to the Apalachicola National Estuarine Research Reserve and very soon there will be one from the Camp Gordon Johnston World War 2 Museum.

The museum series was originally created to reach out to tourists as a way to promote the history of Franklin County – it is now being used by schools for use in their online teaching.

You can watch the videos yourself at the Franklin County Tourist Development Website at http://www.floridasforgottencoast.com
