Wakulla County plan to reopen vacation rental homes

PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT

The Wakulla County Board of County Commissioners announces approval of Wakulla County’s Vacation Rental Reopening Plan.  The Plan was approved by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation on May 19, 2020.  The approved Plan is as follows:

·           Vacation rentals reservations and stays will be allowed from all U.S. states with a COVID-19 Case Rate less than 500 cases/100K residents as of May 14, 2020;

· Adequate time must be maintained between the conclusion of a guest stay and the check-in of thnext guest stay foappropriate cleaning and sanitation;

·           All frequently-touched surfaces in rental units must be cleaned and disinfected between each guest stay;

·           All linens, dishware, and other service items available for use by guests must be washed betweeeach guest rental;

·           All vacation rental units must be equipped with sufficient soap and surface sanitation supplies foguests to utilize in the vacation rentaproperty during the guest’s rental period;

·           All vacation rental units must ensure adequate safety protocols are in place and publicly displayed, in line with CDC guidance, regarding shared or multi-residence amenities such apools, gyms, and other communal spaces;

·           All vacation rentals must use mobile platforms for customeservice and communication with guests, including thacceptance of payments by mobile or electronic method;

·           All vacation rentals shall minimize direct guest contact with property owners or managers through remote check-in and check-out procedure;

·           Signage or other notices regarding the cleaning practicethat are completed prior to each guest stay shall be publicly displayed;

·           All vacation rental units shall display signage or noticeto guests in the rentaproperty to frequently remind guests to take steps to prevent the spread of COVID-19, including the wiping and sanitation of touched surfaces; and

·           This plan will be displayed on Wakulla County’s website and reviewed and updated as needed.
