Apalachicola National Forest reopens recreation sites closed due to Tropical Storm Cristobal



TALLAHASSEE, Fla., June 8, 2020 – The Apalachicola National Forest has reopened Silver Lake and Trout Pond Recreation Areas along with Spring Hill Motorcycle Trailhead today, after temporarily shutting them down to protect the public and to prevent damage to facilities as a result of Tropical Storm Cristobal.

Forest Service officials inspected and assessed post-storm conditions and determined these recreation sites were safe to reopen. The public should use caution when traveling in the area. Excessive rainfall may have impacted some Forest Service roads.
