The Florida Highway Patrol on Tuesday arrested a 30 year old Panama City man involved in a DUI crash in Port St. Joe.
The accident happened around 6:20 Tuesday afternoon on Highway 98 just west of Butler Bay Road.
It was determined that an SUV driven by Jaime Martinez of Panama City was traveling east on US Highway 98 when the driver drifted off the south edge of the roadway.
The driver attempted to correct the direction of the vehicle and over corrected, travelling into oncoming traffic.
A male driver traveling to Tyndall AFB where he is stationed was hit by the oncoming vehicle; causing it to overturn and come to final rest on it's roof.
The SUV then hit a power pole.
It was later determined the driver of the SUV was under the influence of an alcoholic beverage, refused a lawful breath test, had a suspended license for failing to pay child support and had an active warrant from the Bay County Sheriff's Office
Two children from Wewahitchka who were in the vehicle sustained minor injuries and were later turned over to their mother after being released from a local medical facility.
