Ribbon Cutting for Wakulla Youth Baseball Association
The Wakulla County Youth Baseball Association is a nonprofit organization that provides the youth of Wakulla County the opportunity to participate in organized baseball. We are a volunteer-run organization whose successful operation is fully dependent on sponsor support, community involvement, and parent participation. The Mission of WCYBA is to create a competitive, yet fun atmosphere where we can teach the local youth about the greatest game in the world. For the 2022 season, we are focused on player development and building fundamental in our league. We have some great clinics we are planning that will benefit all players, regardless of current skill level. The cost to play is $100, which includes a full uniform. We also offer a baseball fee waiver program for families experiencing a financial hardship. The deadline to register and evaluate for the Spring 2022 baseball season is January 22nd. Evaluations will be held at the Medart Rec Park from 10AM-1PM for minors, and 1PM-3PM for majors. It is important to note that all kids play, evaluations are conducted in order to divide teams evenly. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the WCYBA Board at wakullacalripkenleague@gmail.com.
Florida Department of Economic Opportunity Announcement
The Florida Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO) is pleased to provide you with an update about the Office of Broadband.
DEO has recently developed Florida’s Broadband Availability Map and internet speed test to identify and assist in gathering more data about the state’s broadband internet service availability. You can find both the map and speed test at www.FloridaJobs.org/Broadband.
The Broadband Availability Map, which you can view here, identifies a location’s speed, connectivity, and access to broadband services. In addition, DEO is enlisting the help of the public to take an internet speed test, that you can find here, to assist in further developing Florida's Broadband Availability Map.
We encourage your participation in the state of Florida’s efforts to identify the broadband needs of Florida’s communities, and please help us spread the word.
