Friday, Sept 16, Join us for this annual RiverTrek tradition, a Gathering at the Gallery of Richard Bickel. The first 50 attendees will receive a signed poster. Richard has also donated an original signed print for the raffle. See you there! Sure, you can bring your own glass to help reduce plastic waste.

Sunday, Sept 18: Come out and strut your stuff at Railroad Square in Tallahassee.  Yes, costumes are welcomed! This event was so much fun last year. Bring your camp chair or lawn blanket. Thank you Mary Allgire for your creativity and coordination.

Cooling off in Merritts Mill Pond

On a recent eco-educational outing, we explored and jumped in the crystal-clear spring water at Merritts Mill Pond. Merritts Mill Pond was dammed in the 1800s to operate a grist mill. Today it serves as a recreational space for cave diving, fishing, boating and paddling. There are multiple springs that feed Mill Pond, with first-magnitude Jackson Blue Spring as the main source. Read more.

Marina Proposal on Apalachicola River

A riverfront marina-restaurant complex proposal was given conditional site plan approval by the City of Apalachicola Planning and Zoning Commission. Additional permitting is required by the State and USACE. The marina proposal includes a fueling station and 76 vessel slips (28 slips for boat 40-54 ft). Read more.
