Franklin County Emergency Management is reminding Franklin County residents and visitors to prepare for Hurricane Ian, which could affect our area later this week.

The track of Hurricane Ian is still very uncertain but people should be prepared for the worst.

If you need sandbags, they are available today from 8 till 5.
There is a limit of 10 sandbags per household.

You can find sandbags at the Old State Yard on Bluff Road in Apalachicola, at Vrooman Park in Eastpoint, and at the Old County Annex in Carrabelle.

Re-Entry tags are available in Carrabelle today at the Carrabelle Courthouse Annex from 8:30 am -4:30 pm.

If you have an old re-entry tag, it is still valid, and you do not need an updated tag, even if it shows an expiration date.

Pay close attention to Beach flags.

There is an elevated risk of Rip Current for the next several days.

Large and dangerous surf is possible at area beaches.

This is also the time to secure yard items such as chairs, tables and umbrellas, and to secure Boats and Vehicles.
