Franklin County has agreed to extend the contract with the
Franklin County Sheriff’s Office to clean local bridges.
The current contract ends at the end of this calendar year.
The extension will allow for an automatic annual renewal
unless either the county or sheriff’s office decides to end the agreement.
The sheriff’s office cleans four bridges in the county on a
regular basis, using a street sweeping machine along with inmate labor to do
the trash pickup.
The bridges include the Apalachicola and St. George Island bridges as
well as the Carrabelle and Ochlocknee River bridges.
