Local cell phone customers will now have another choice when it comes to their cell phone service.
T-Mobile is making a big drive to increase coverage in Franklin County.
The company is expanding coverage on Highway 65 and between Eastpoint and Carrabelle to eliminate “dead” spots and bring true 5-G coverage to the area.
County Commission Chairman Jones said the company is mandated to bring 5-G service to rural areas.
They already have tower locations in Eastpoint, St. George Island and Carrabelle with plans to expand to Apalachicola and Alligator Point within the next few months.
They are also working to construct a new tower on Highway 65 to provide better service there.
