Nonnative lizard that appears to walk on water thrives in Florida

Among Florida’s approximately 50 species of nonnative lizards is the brown basilisk, a species now thriving in south and central Florida. Residents are asked to report sightings of the so-called "Jesus lizard" using EddMapSDownload here > Contact > 


AI-enhanced system detects bruised strawberries before they get to the grocery

The system has been taught to inspect the fruit, taking thousands of images and evaluating them for bruises. It identifies differences in color, shape and texture between the bruised and healthy parts of the fruit. Download here > Contact > 


Study shows fertilizer ordinances improve water quality, but timing matters

Using 30 years of water quality data gathered by the UF/IFAS LAKEWATCH program from 1987 to 2018, researchers found that winter fertilizer bans were associated with the biggest improvements in nutrient levels in lakes. Download here > Contact >
