The county annex in Carrabelle will soon start looking a little neater on a more regular basis

The county annex in Carrabelle will soon start looking a little neater on a more regular basis.

On Tuesday the Franklin County Commission agreed to put the annex on a regular maintenance schedule.

The request was made by Commissioner Jessica Ward, who said she would like to see the grounds at the annex location maintained as well as the courthouse location in Apalachicola.

She pointed out that both properties are a reflection of the county and should be treated as such.

Commission chairman Ricky Jones agreed, pointing out that the last time he was there he saw a few snakes in the shrubs, so they definitely need to be maintained.

County staff said the annex was on a maintenance schedule before, but the schedule kind of fell off after the county lost access to much of its inmate labor.
