Local students will be returning to school in the next few weeks and the Franklin County sheriff’s office is collecting school supplies for kids who need them.

On Wednesday, the sheriff’s office will hold a “Stuff the Truck” event where people can drop off school supplies at a number of locations around the county.

Sheriff’s office employees will be set up at the Carrabelle Family Dollar, the Eastpoint Dollar General, and at Apalachicola Ace Hardware.

They are asking for donations of school supplies such as pencils, paper, folders, glue sticks, notebooks, erasers, and highlighters.

Basically, anything a student might need for school.

If you would like to make a donation, you can bring them by any of the three “Stuff the Truck” locations on Wednesday from 10 AM - 1PM and 4 PM - 6 PM.
