Retired Major Thomas J. Webb has been named Grand Marshall of this year's Red White and Blue Parade in Apalachicola

Retired Major Thomas J. Webb has been named Grand Marshall of this year's Red White and Blue Parade in Apalachicola.

 

This will be the 20th year of the parade which will be held on July the 3rd as part of the Apalachicola July 3rd Waterfront Celebration.

 

Webb served our nation for 6 years in the U.S. Navy.

 

He joined the U.S. Navy at 17 years of age and was noted as a member of the original crew to commission the Good Ship USS Boone in 1982.

 

After his Navy service, Webb made Apalachicola his home, where he served with the Franklin County Sheriff's Department for 24 years.

 

Thomas Webb was ordained in 1996 and has served as a pastor for the Tabernacle of Faith International Ministry in Apalachicola since 2007.

 

You can see Thomas Webb as he leads the Red White and Blue parade on July the 3rd in downtown Apalachicola.

 

The parade is organized by Franklin’s Promise Coalition and the Crew of the Conservation Corps of the Forgotten Coast.

 

If you would like to be part of the parade, you can enter your bicycles, wagons, golf carts, or just walk.

 

The parade will organize at Lafayette Park between 6 and 6:30 pm on Wednesday, July 3rd.

 

Franklin’s Promise Coalition will provide streamers and decorations for everyone to decorate. Placards will be available for participants to display the name of their honored veteran.

 

If you want to watch the parade, the procession will travel down Avenue B, proceed down Water Street and finish at Riverfront Park in the middle of the Apalachicola July 3rd festivities.
