An Eastpoint man was arrested in Bay
County after he fired several shots into another vehicle as they both drove on
Pridgen Street in Callaway.
No one was injured during the
shooting.
The bay County Sheriff’s office
arrested 21-year-old Chance Roney for an incident that happened on August 30th.
They Sheriff’s office said they received
multiple 911 calls reporting a reckless driver with a firearm in the area of S.
Gay Avenue and Pridgen Street in Callaway.
Witnesses at the scene observed a
yellow charger with black stripes discharge a firearm at a dark colored sedan.
The owners of the sedan reported their
vehicle was struck by two bullets fired from what they believed was a handgun.
After several interviews deputies
learned the occupants of the two vehicles had gotten into an argument which
escalated to the point both parties were throwing cups and water bottles at
each other’s vehicles while both were driving down Tyndall Parkway.
The situation escalated when the
yellow charger continued following the sedan when the driver tried to lose them
down several side streets.
While still driving the Charger,
Chance Roney, pulled a .25 caliber handgun and fired several shots towards the
victim’s vehicle, with several minors in the vehicle.
Deputies issued a Be On the Lookout
for the Charger and it was quickly located and detained at a gas station on
Tyndall Parkway.
Roney is in custody at the Bay County
Jail on charges of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Shooting into an
Occupied Conveyance, and Discharging a Firearm from a Vehicle.
