Member Spotlight We’re proud to spotlight the 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗼𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗖𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗼𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, a nonprofit organization dedicated to enriching the communities of Florida’s Forgotten Coast through arts and cultural programming. The coalition works to enhance the vitality of communities from Mexico Beach to Alligator Point by organizing cultural events, supporting arts education, and partnering with local nonprofits and organizations to strengthen the region’s creative economy and cultural identity. Their signature event — and one of the most anticipated arts festivals of the year — is Forgotten Coast en Plein Air, which returns next week! 𝗙𝗢𝗥𝗚𝗢𝗧𝗧𝗘𝗡 𝗖𝗢𝗔𝗦𝗧 𝗲𝗻 𝗣𝗹𝗲𝗶𝗻 𝗔𝗶𝗿 is a 10-day internationally recognized plein air painting festival where acclaimed artists from across the country come to the Forgotten Coast to paint the landscapes, culture, and natural beauty of our region. The event features exhibitions, workshops, demonstrations, and special gatherings for art lovers, collectors, students, and the public. 𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝗽𝗼𝘁𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 We’re proud to spotlight 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗠𝘂𝘀𝗲𝘂𝗺 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗸, a historic treasure in Port St. Joe and a valued member of the Gulf County Chamber of Commerce. This beautiful 14-acre state park preserves the site where Florida’s journey to statehood began. In 1838, 56 territorial delegates gathered in the nearby town of St. Joseph to draft Florida’s first constitution, laying the foundation for Florida to become the 27th state in the Union in 1845. Today, visitors can explore the museum’s exhibits and learn about life in the early 19th century through artifacts from the original settlement of St. Joseph. A recreated convention hall with life-size, audio-animated figures of delegates brings the historic debates and drafting of Florida’s constitution to life. Beyond the museum, the park’s scenic grounds provide opportunities to enjoy nature, attend special programs, and take in views that stretch toward beautiful St. Joseph Bay. The park also hosts tours, educational programs, and community events that help visitors better understand Florida’s rich history and heritage.
