Local libraries offer amnesty on overdue books during National Library Week

Next week is National Library Week, and local public libraries will be celebrating by recognizing library patrons. All during the week of April 11 through the 17, library patrons will be recognized for their efforts to support the Franklin County Public Library.

Tuesday is Lollipops for Libraries day, Wednesday is Libraries are Lifesavers, Thursday is Patrons are Worth a Mint, and Friday, Patrons take the Cake, that is Cupcakes.

And besides handing out candy and cupcakes, the libraries will also offer amnesty on overdue library books. From April 11th through the 17th all fines on books or other library materials will be forgiven- regardless of how much so make sure to search your house and bring in any late materials.

And if you haven’t been to the library in a while, come check them out – the libraries now provide space for community meetings, lectures and programs as well as access to help finding a job or to find homework help. The library even provides access to computers, printers, copiers and fax machines.

Libraries hours are Monday through Friday, 10:00 to 6:00, in Carrabelle, and Tuesday through Friday, 9;00 to 6:00 in Eastpoint, both libraries are open on Saturday’s from 10:00 to 2:00pm.
