Wakulla Springs State Park will be holding a special event today as it holds the maiden launch of its refurbished River Boat Limpkin.
The boat, which is used for river tours at the park, has been completely refurbished.
The work, which was funded mainly through public donations, included sandblasting the boat and giving it a new coat of paint. The old wooden seats were replaced by recycled plastic benches and access has been improved with a wheelchair ramp making the river boat tours available to everyone.
The boat will be launched at 9:30 this morning and will then provide river tours on a regular schedule.
