Work continues on Ochlocknee Bay boat ramp

Work is moving forward on the Ochlocknee Bay boat ramp at the foot of the Ochlocknee Bay Bridge.

County engineer Dan Rothwell said this week that the ramp itself is already in place, and now Poloronis Construction is dredging around the end of the ramp. There is still plenty of work to do including the construction of a retaining wall, the expansion of the parking area and the addition of a floating dock.

The 300 thousand dollar project is expected to be complete by early July. The project is being funded through a grant from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.

County commissioners say this is the last FWC funded boat ramp project they have scheduled and are now looking for more locations that could use public water access.
