Flood warning for Apalachicola River

A flood warning is in effect for areas along the Apalachicola River including Franklin, Gulf, Calhoun and Liberty Counties. Heavy rains last weekend raised river levels at Blountstown to nearly 21 feet on Friday.

Flood level for the Apalachicola is 15 feet.

The river is currently falling but is not expected to fall below flood stage until late next week.

All people with interests along the river should monitor the latest forecasts and be prepared to protect life and property. Do not walk or drive cars through flooded areas.
