Weems Memorial hospital has named twenty new trustees to the new George E. Weems Memorial Healthcare Foundation.
The foundation was formed at the request of the Franklin County Commission as a way to get the public more involved in the hospital especially as the hospital begins construction of a new urgent care clinic in Carrabelle and starts drawing up plans for a new hospital facility in Apalachicola.
The new trustees have already begun planning ways to support the hospital's goals through philanthropy.
