If you received an alligator hunting license this year but want a little extra training before actually facing a 12 foot gator - The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is offering alligator hunters no-cost, three-hour classes to help prepare them for the coming statewide alligator harvest.
The classes are for hunters who have never participated in the state’s alligator hunts to learn what hunting alligators is all about.
The class covers everything from preparing for the hunt; hunting safety and caring for your alligator skin.
You don’t have to make a reservation or even have a alligator hunting permit to take the class.
The closest class to our area will be held this afternoon from 6-9 p.m., at the Bryant Building in Tallahassee.
For directions, call 850-488-3831.
All of the alligator permits have sold out this year – the state this year sold 4500 alligator hunting permits.
