Guardian Ad Litem seeks local volunteers

The Guardian Ad litem program is looking for local volunteers.

For nearly 30 years the Guardian Ad Litem program has represented the best interests of abused and neglected children in court, generally in non-criminal court cases like divorces.

Many of the nearly 27 thousand children using the program statewide are the victims of abuse, abandonment or neglect.

Currently there are 24 Franklin County children being represented by a Guardian Ad Litem – there are 11 local volunteers in the program.

But more volunteers are always needed.

If you would like to help, on average you would have to devote 4-6 hours a month to the program.

If you would like to learn more about the program and what you can do to help – call 606-1200 for more information or visit www.guardianadlitembigbend.org.
