ABC School receives another "A" grade

School grades were released on Friday and once again the Apalachicola Bay charter School received an “A” from the state.

It’s the second “A” rating for the school in 2 years and the 4th since 2004.

The ABC School was one of 950 elementary schools statewide to receive an A grade this year.

Grades for the Franklin County School have not yet been released.

Because of a change in the grading guidelines for High Schools this year – the data needed to give a final grade will not be available until the Fall.

Gulf County school had a pretty good report card this year – the Port St. Joe Elementary School scored a “B”, which is actually down from an A grade last year.

Port St. Joe Middle School received its 4th “A” in 4 years.

In Wewahitchka the elementary school grade fell from an “A” to a “B” and the middle school got its second consecutive “A” grade.

High School grades in the county are also pending until the fall.

School grades have been issued since 1999 – they are primarily based on the results of the FCAT standardized test that is taken by most Florida students every year.
