Festival of Ice continues with snow cones and live music

The city of Apalachicola will continue its month long celebration of the invention of the ice making machine on Saturday.

The Water Street Festival of ice will bring events throughout the month of August to honor Dr. John Gorrie and his ice machine which led to the creation of the modern day air-conditioners.

This Saturday’s event is snow cones and a concert.

There will be free snow cones and live music at Riverfront Park on Water Street in Apalachicola.
Artists include Robert Carrino playing fun dance music and Steve Holt playing original and cover blues songs.
The fun will begin at 7 PM.

Other events through the month include cool jazz on a hot summer night on August the 21st and a Gorrie Square tribute to the Iceman on August the 28th.
