The state of Florida has created a new Web site to assist rural communities with diversifying local economies, creating jobs and improving the quality of life of rural residents.
32 of Florida’s 67 counties are considered rural.
They hold about nine percent of the state’s population but nearly 80 percent of the state’s land and natural resources.
The website is part of the Rural Economic Development Initiative which helps rural communities access state and federal funds to spur job creation and capital investment, while also working to resolve permitting and regulatory issues..
The new Web site at www.florida-redi.com, provides residents and leaders of rural communities information about economic development programs and incentives targeted for rural communities.
That website again is www.florida-redi.com
