August 10 Update: This fall, the Franklin County Tourist Development Council (FCTDC) will join Visit Florida in launching the first in what it hopes will be a continuing series of Franklin County-based Natural Florida Getaways to be promoted at each of the five State Welcome Centers. The first promotional campaign, scheduled to run September through October, is intended to boost visitor interest in our area during the offseason. Visit Florida officials say it is expected to be seen by an estimated 300,000 visitors during the two months.
The first Getaway campaign will feature St. George Island - one of Franklin County's premiere natural beaches. Resort Vacation Properties is donating the first getaway vacation which will also feature a lighthouse tour and tee shirts as well as a meal for two donated by the Blue Parrot Bar & Grill. Additional campaigns are being developed for Apalachicola, Carrabelle, Alligator Point and even a special natural getaway fishing vacation. Want to learn more? Contact info@anaturalescape.com.
