Franklin County saw record temperatures on two days last week as a heat wave crossed the southeast.
A record high temperature of 98 degrees was set in Apalachicola last Wednesday – breaking the old record of 94 degrees set in 1936.
That was followed by another record high temperature of 99 degrees last Thursday which broke the old record of 96 degrees set back in 1993.
The National Weather Service issued Heat Advisories across Florida through much of the weekend.
Everyone spending any length of time outdoors is urged to use caution and drink plenty of non-alcoholic fluids.
