Lifeline and Link-Up programs can save needy families money on phone service

Low income families around Florida may be able to get some assistance with their home telephone bills under two programs sponsored by Florida’s telephone companies and the Public Service Commission.
Link-Up Florida and Lifeline Assistance can both provide telephone bill savings to eligible households.
Link-Up Florida provides a 50% reduction in the telephone service hook-up charge, up to a maximum of $30.
The Lifeline Assistance program provides up to a $13.50 credit on monthly phone bills.
Households are eligible for the telephone programs if they already participate in programs like Medicaid, Food Stamps, Federal Public Housing Assistance, or Low-Income Home Energy Assistance.
For more information contact your local telephone company or the Florida Public Service Commission.
