PANAMA CITY, FL- Representative-elect Steve Southerland today announced his committee assignments for the 112th Congress. Southerland will serve on the House Committee on Agriculture and the Committee on Natural Resources.
"I am honored and humbled by the opportunity to serve on the Committees for Agriculture and Natural Resources. Both of these committees address critical issues for Florida and Congressional District Two," said Southerland. "I look forward to working with Chairman-elect Frank Lucas and Chairman-elect Doc Hastings to achieve a common sense level of oversight and ensure that the government does not impede the progress of the free market machine. This is our only hope for lasting job growth and economic stability in America," Southerland concluded.
"I am pleased to welcome Congressman-elect Steve Southerland to the Agriculture Committee. His experience and perspective as a small business owner will be an asset to the Committee as we work together to ensure proper oversight of the administration and eliminate the obstacles for job growth across the country," said Chairman-elect Frank Lucas.
Steve Southerland was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives from Florida's Second Congressional District on November 2, 2010.
