Volunteer archaeologists needed for Orman House project

Volunteer archaeologists will be needed again this weekend in Apalachicola to help the Florida Public Archaeology Network at the University of West Florida dig up some local history.
The group will be doing some research at the Orman House historic state park in Apalachicola on the 11th and 12th and would like to have local volunteers take part.
They are doing the research on the “Tenant House” at the Orman House as part of a plan to restore and reconstruct the building.
They will be digging for items that might around provide information about the building and the people that lived there.
If you would like to help with the effort, you have to sign up in advanced by contacting Barbara Hines by calling 850-933-5779 or by e-mail at bhines@uwf.edu.
Even if you don’t want to get your hands dirty, you can still visit the excavation during the weekend, watch everybody else work,  and ask any questions you might have about the project.
