Long time seafood worker president Leroy Hall passes away


Long time Franklin County Seafood Workers Association President Leroy Hall passed away over the weekend.
Leroy died Friday in Denver, Colorado, his daughter said he had succumbed to an illness.
He was 86 years old.
During his life, Leroy served in the Korean War and was a firefighter in Houston before moving to Franklin County where he spent years as the president of the Seafood Workers Association.
His body is being flown back to Franklin County this week so he can be buried in Apalachicola.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 22 at 2 p.m. at Kelley Funeral Home in Apalachicola, with burial in Magnolia Cemetery.
