Mardis Gras coming to Apalachicola

Franklin County’s Habitat for Humanity group will hold its 8th annual Mardis Gras fundraiser on February the 5th at the Dixie Theater in Apalachicola.
Tickets to the event are 30 dollars for dinner and a show and 20 dollars for just the show and can be purchased at the door.
That gets you in the door plus pays for your food and entertainment.
You an also buy drink tickets for beer and wine and there’s a silent auction.
This year’s entertainment includes slim fatz, Big Daddy’s Tangled Roots Band and the Korn Bread band and John Ramsden.
Over the past 8 years the event has raised over 100 thousand dollars for the local Habitat for Humanity chapter and now it also provides money for the Franklin’s Promise organization too.
Habitat for Humanity is currently building its 3rd home in Franklin County, with plans for two more in Eastpoint.
Franklin’s promise supports a number of local charities including the local food pantry.
If you would like to volunteer with Habitat for Humanity, you can get information on doing that at their website at www.habitatfranklin.org.
