The Apalachicola Riverkeeper has announced the films that will be shown in this September’s Wild & Scenic Film Festival.
The 4 year old festival features films with an environmental focus; this year’s films include a combination of local interest films and films that take you to exotic places.
There will be 11 original films over the two festival nights.
Merrill Livingston, cinematographer and chair of the Apalachicola Riverkeeper, will be screening her local film, “Red Bay” about creating a sustainable community grocery in Red Bay, Florida.
Additional films include “Eagle Among the Swarm,” a visit to the 20,000 eagles that populate Boundary Bay, British Columbia; and “Eastern Rises,” about fly fisherman in Kamchatka Russia.
Other films include “Into Darkness” about wild caves and “Pine Rockland Composition” about the Pine Rocklands of Everglades National Park.
The festival is free – there will be two showings in Franklin County.
It will be shown at the St. James By Golf Resort on August the 26th and 27th and at the Dixie Theatre in Apalachicola on September the 2nd and 3rd.
