Representative Leonard Bembry has received the Legislator of the year award from the Florida Association of Homes and Services for the Aging.
The group recognized Representative Bembry for his support of House Bill 1037 which provides Florida’s seniors with additional options for care at-home.
The law allows Florida seniors to contract for Continuing Care Retirement Communities services while still remaining in their home which allow more seniors to remain in their homes longer before moving into an assisted living facility.
The Florida Association of Homes and Services for the Aging says the law will not only help seniors but also add much needed jobs around the state as the Continuing Care Retirement Communities increase their staff to meet the needs of these new off-site residents.
