Leon County burglar finds the wrong place to set up a meth lab

On February 10, 2012, deputies from the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office responded to a complaint in the Bald Point area of Franklin County regarding illegal camping on the beach.  When deputies arrived on scene they located a camp site but no subjects were present.  However, deputies did locate a truck at the camp site area.  The registered owner of the truck had outstanding warrants for Burglary in Leon County.  Information received from witnesses indicated that a male subject wearing only shorts had fled the area.  K-9 units from the Department of Corrections and Officers from the FWC were called for assistance in locating the male subject.  Upon a detailed search of the camp site, the deputies and officers located what appeared to be a Meth Lab.  While enroute to the scene, deputies from the Narcotics Unit made contact with a male subject walking on the roadway and determined that he was the wanted individual from Leon County.  FCSO deputies arrested Robert Keith White, age 49, of 6600 Reigh Count Trail, Tallahassee, Florida and transported him to the Franklin County Jail where he is being held on warrants from Leon County.

Guardian Environmental Inc. was contracted to remove all dangerous chemicals from the area.  More charges are pending laboratory results from the FDLE Crime Laboratory in Tallahassee.
