Water
customers in the City of Port St. Joe , including Oak Grove, are under a boil
water notice.
The
boil water notice took effect on Monday morning.
The
water company said there was an accidental loss of pressure in a water line
that supplies drinking water.
Whenever
that happens there is the potential for contamination, so as a precaution, the
company is advising its customers to boil all water used for drinking or cooking.
A
rolling boil of one minute is sufficient to insure that the water is safe.
The
water company has sent a sample of the water for testing and the precautionary boil water notice will remain in effect until the lab
results show the water is safe to drink.
If
you have any questions you may contact Larry McClamma at the Water Department
Office at 229-1421.
