October
is almost over, so if you would like a special deal on a dog or cat from the
humane society, you better get to the shelter soon.
Because
October is both national Breast Cancer Awareness month and National Adopt-a-Dog
from a shelter month the Franklin County Humane Society has
lowered the adoption fee for shelter dogs to only $50.00 and for cats to only
$25.00.
If
you are interested in adopting a pet, stop by the shelter on Highway 65.
You
can also see many of the available pets on-line at the Humane society website
at forgottenpets.org.
Even
if you can’t adopt a pet, but would like to help the shelter – they are always
looking for volunteers and foster parents.
For
more information on volunteer opportunities call 670-8417.
