Highway Patrol kicks off new safety campaign

The Florida highway patrol has just kicked off a new safety campaign focusing on aggressive drivers.

The campaign is called TACT for “Ticketing Aggressive Cars and Trucks.”

The campaign will combine education with targeted enforcement activities.

The education portion of the campaign will use billboards reminding car and truck drivers to drive safely around one another.

The Highway Patrol will also collaborate with the Florida Trucking Association to conduct activities at schools and community centers around the state to educate drivers on how to share the road safely with big trucks.

And of course, Troopers will be on the lookout for violations attributed to aggressive driving such as: following too closely, unsafe lane changes and speeding.

The campaign will be in effect in north Florida between Pensacola and Ocala November the 12th through the 16th.
