The deadline to comment on proposed changes to the master
water control manual
for the Apalachicola-Chattahoochee-Flint River Basin is coming up soon.
The
public has until January the 14th to comment on the manual which
spells out how water from the river system is managed.
The public comment period was reopened in October
because of a 2011 court ruling that allows Lake Lanier to be used for drinking
water for the City of Atlanta .
Before the
change occurs, the Corps has to update its water control manuals, so this is
the time for the public to comment on the proposed changes and to detail any
impacts they feel the changes will have to the area and the fishing industry.
Comments can
be submitted online through
January 14th.
