Franklin county gets money to repair road to the St. George Island fishing pier

            Franklin County has received federal money to repair the road leading to the St. George Island fishing pier and is now looking for companies to do the work.

The federal Emergency Management Agency has awarded Franklin County 647 thousand dollars to repair the road leading to the St. George Island fishing pier as well as the rock revetment along the road.

Both were damaged during the Tropical Storm Debby last summer.

Now that the money is available, the county’s engineering firm will prepare the specifications for the work so the county can seek bids for the project.
