Alan Pierce to replace Ted Mosteller as airport manager

The Airport in Apalachicola has a new manager.

The County commission on Tuesday agreed Alan Pierce to the position.

Pierce is the county’s Director of Administrative Services and recommended himself for the position.

Mister Pierce will take over the position from Ted Mosteller, who has served as airport manager since 2005.

Mister Mosteller also serves as the chairman of the Airport advisory committee and will continue to serve in that function.

Alan Pierce said that over the past 6 months Mister Mosteller has felt obligated to put in far too much time at the airport and its probably in everyone’s best interest if he not continue in both jobs.

County commissioners said they appreciate all of the work Ted has done as airport manager and plan not only to provide him with resolution of appreciation but also name one of the buildings at the airport for him.
