Eastpoint Fire Department's 12th annual rib cook-off is Saturday

The Eastpoint Fire Department will hold its annual Rib Cookoff this Saturday.

This is the 12^th year of the event which helps fund the fire department’s budget.

The day-long event includes the rib cook-off where dozens of teams compete for the title of top rib cook.

There will also be BBQ dinners for sale as well as apple dumpling with ice cream.

The event also includes a classic car show, a kids’ festival with rides and face painting, a silent auction and a liars contest.

Live entertainment will be provided throughout the day

The gates opens at 9:00 a.m. – food will be sold beginning at 11.

The 12^th annual rib cook-off will be held at the Eastpoint Fire House at Vrooman Park on the corner of 6th Street and CC Land Road in Eastpoint.

If you would like to get an early look at the auction items they will be on display this afternoon from 5 till 7 at the Eastpoint firehouse – there will also be live entertainment at Vrooman Park this evening.
