Swimming advisories issued for Carrabelle Beach and Alligator Point

Swimming advisories have been issued for Carrabelle Beach and Alligator Point in Franklin County.

The Franklin County Health Department issued the advisory after water testing indicated bacteria levels that exceed state requirements. 

Moderate levels of bacteria were also found at the three beaches tested on St. George Island but concentrations were not high enough to require a swimming advisory.

Sample taken at 10:30 a.m. on 07/22/2013 and the following beaches have advisories:

Carrabelle Beach ID# 117388: Enterococci level: 118

Alligator Point ID# 117389: Enterococci level: 106
