We just posted the 2014 Spring break calendar dates for the 2014 school year on our website. Looks like March 10-15(FSU) will be busy as well as March 17-22. Easter is on April 20th this year. We will be working on the K-12 calendar in December.
The Downtown Oyster Roast was wonderful this year! We had a brief heavy shower but thanks to Panache Tents & Events we were nice and dry. We would like to thank everyone who helped make it such a grand success: Panache Tent & Events for the lighting, tent and chairs, Bayside Gallery & Florist chairs and burlap, Party Rentals for tables; Dackie Ward and Smokey Parrish of Buddy Ward & Son's Seafood for donating the delicious fresh local shrimp; Tommy and TJ Ward of 13 Mile for the oysters; Joe Hutchison, Jereme Neill and Marc Grove for providing excellent music; Jerry Hall, Bev Hewitt and Derrick Lolley of the Apalachicola Seafood Grill for helping us get the wine and set up for the event, plus providing the fish dip and pork; Tamara Suarez, Donatta and Tom Nizzle, Sally Crown and Fredric Kahler for fabulous desserts. Thanks to Centennial Bank, Helen Escobar and the staff at the Grady Market and Sam Gilbert for the use of their space; and Danny and the great staff at Tamara’s Cafe for preparing and serving the food, with a special thanks to Amy and Joey Price, Marisa Getter Itzkovitz and Tiffany Hogaland. As always we would like to thank the many volunteers who made the event possible by setting up, cleaning up, cooking and serving the food: John Gore, Ed Springer, Mason Bean, Dixie Partington, Don and Kathy Ford, Debbie Flowers, Janice Shepard, Carolyn White, Jim Bachrach, Lois Swoboda, Carol Barfield, Kathy Robinson, Jennifer Sheffield, Susan Richardson, Kathy Buell, Bruce, Donna Duncan and Joe Gander.
