THE FRANKLIN COUNTY COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT & LAND TRUST CORPORATION (501C3) PRESENTS:
TOMMY WOMACK
Brilliant singer-songwriter Tommy Womack performs an intimate house concert 7:30pm THIS Thursday January 16th 2014. Womack was a founding member of Government Cheese, and has blazed a talent laden trail of golden musical nuggets. As both an artist and a person, Tommy Womack has been called everything from “Tom Lehrer with a Telecaster” to “Nashville’s best loved musical eccentric,” and he might blushingly, but proudly, accept both titles. That’s because separating Womack the man and Womack the artist is impossible, as they’re both the same guy. An award-winning recording artist and a published author, Womack writes songs as honest as anything Hank Williams or Steve Earle ever recorded, and has attracted the attention of the national press while accumulating a loyal following. Randall “Big Daddy” Webster opens the show.
“Womack mixes country, blues, and rock like a fast-fingered bartender on his new album, 'Now What!'
~ The New Yorker
"Tommy Womack writes better 'regular guy' lyrics than just about anyone I can think of besides Hank Williams."

"...This is rock 'n' roll, or Americana, or whatever you want to call it, that's AS PURE AND HONEST AS IT GETS."
