2 Endangered
Sea Turtles were released back into the Gulf of Mexico Wednesday
morning.
The green sea turtles were the
last of over 200 that were rescued this year for cold stun rehabilitation after
severe cold snaps in January.
Sea turtles are cold blooded so
when it becomes very cold they become weak and can and succumb to secondary
illnesses such as pneumonia.
The turtles were rescued from St. Joe Bay , and
rehabilitated at the Gulf world marine Institute before being released into the
Gulf at the Crooked Island Beach Access in Tyndall Air Force Base.
