We are expecting several rounds of showers and thunderstorms across the region as a cold front approaches later today, stalls on Saturday, and then hangs around the general area through Sunday. A few rounds of storms could include some isolated strong to severe storms. See the attached or linked PDF for more information.

A second, stronger cold front will sweep across the Gulf coast Sunday Night into Monday. Severe thunderstorms are more likely along this front, with damaging winds the main threat.

One thing to note is that if the front hangs over our area well into Sunday, that would likely lead to some heavier rain totals than we are currently forecasting - increasing the risk of flooding. Right now, that does not appear to be the most likely scenario, but it is a possibility. We should know more about the details later today or this evening.
