Area 1612 of the Apalachicola bay will reopen to oyster harvesting on Wednesday morning.
Area 1612 is the conditionally approved Winter West Shellfish Harvest Area – it was
closed on Sunday..
It will reopen at sunrise tomorrow.
The department of Agriculture says fecal coliform tests show the
site meets the standards to be re-opened to oyster harvesting.

The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services announced
that the following shellfish area(s) will be re-opened at sunrise on
Wednesday May 21, 2014 for the harvest of oysters, clams, and mussels.
In this context, shellfish does not include scallops, shrimp, or crabs.
